STEPHANIE ORR | COSTUME TECHNOLOGIST
About Stephanie:
I am currently the Assistant Professor of Costume Technology at Baldwin Wallace University. I graduated from Indiana University with an M.F.A. in Costume Technology in May 2018. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.F.A. in Costume Design in 2008.
I believe that it is imperative to chase after your dreams and make the most of out of every opportunity presented in life. I have pursued my artistic endeavors as a theatrical costume technician in New York, Los Angeles, Connecticut, Colorado, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Wisconsin, and on tour.
I believe that the most important part of being a technician is to keep the vision and design integrity of each project presented to the best of my ability. This is achieved through research, continued understanding of my craft, and collaboration with each designer and technician I work with.
I also have a firm belief that as a theatre artisan it is my responsibility to create theatre that matters. I am passionate about the art form because we as professionals are allowed to dream daily and continually ask "what if?" I love that we get to create worlds for characters to live in, and in those worlds inspire others to dream.
